class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hump Ridge Loop Track<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The highlight for most is the loop track at the top of the Hump Ridge range which winds around soaring limestone tors and offers panoramic views of south-west Fiordland, the Southern Ocean, and Stewart Island.<\/p>\n<p>This circuit track has all the qualities of a <a title=\"Great Walks\" href=\"http:\/\/www.greatwalks.co.nz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Great Walk<\/a> and more. The first day leads hikers from sea-level up through native forest to the Hump Ridge, providing sweeping 360\u00b0 views of the south coast far below and the peaks of the Southern Alps marching northward.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_691\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Port-Craig-Wharf.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-691\" class=\"wp-image-691 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Port-Craig-Wharf-300x197.jpg\" alt=\"Port Craig Wharf\" width=\"300\" height=\"197\"><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-691\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Port Craig Wharf<\/p><\/div>\n<p>From the Hump Ridge, the track descends almost back to sea-level, and then traverses along old tram lines and across mighty wooden viaducts to the historic <a title=\"Port Craig\" href=\"\/tuatapere\/whats-here\/port-craig\/\">Port Craig<\/a>.
